Barn and Stuff
OK,
so I have this guitar teacher and he has a recording studio in his barn, the whole nine yards, its really cool, and I thought maybe if we worked up some money and a few more origanals we could make a cd of sorts.... where this money is going to come from I'm not sure... we'll figure it out though :)

WORDLE
Ok Guys,
I am submitting an idea, for those of you who read this blog, you would care!
I wordled Seven Car Pileup, and we threw around some ideas.... can you say t-shirts? i could look into making them if people wanted them. I'll have to check out some craft store prices, and I'll get back to you with the deets! I'm putting up a shoutbox, post in it if you'd be interested in a shirt!

Seven-Car Pileup Lyrics
Hey Everybody,
People have been asking for the lyrics to Seven-Car Pileup, so here they are.
Driving down the interstate 95
I went to London yesteryear and bought myself a nice new smart car
Too bad it's gonna go to waste, gotta make haste now
The six cars in front of me, we're gonna make the news tonight, ooohh
(Chorus)
Crashing in a seven car pileup
I don't know what to, don't know what to do
Crashing in a seven car pileup
It's the end it must be true
Gotta nice new smart car, it's got these gadgets and things
It'll turn into a submarine or a flying machine
It has thick glass protection, a funky laser beam
I wish it had more padding, though, for the crazy adventures I've been ohh
Chorus
My mom recorded the news that night, there were pictures all seven drivers
We were bloody and messed up, all except for me
I'd been listening to the ball game, the phils were up by 4
There were runners on first and third, but of course they couldn't score anymore, ohhh
Chorus (2x)

Debut Performance
Well, all I can say is that last night was a wonderful success. Everything went just as planned, and we rocked Swarthmore. First of all, Kylie sang the best I have ever heard her with us. Beautiful transitions and no mistakes. Ian kept us in-sync and played extremely well; also no mistakes. Gabe introduced our band and our songs. He got the crowd into it, and made his violin rock! David and his "wow" pedal gave our songs such a full sound. His soloing was fantastic; he made no mistakes. I played the bass for every song but our third; I made no mistakes. We were amazing! We played three originals and only one cover; we made the first one up 2 days ago! Combust will go far, guys. My parents told me that what made our performance so great is that nobody is a stand out in our band. We are one group, each of us with amazing talent and skills, and it really showed in that performance.
What a debut! Rock on :P

1 Week Remaining.
Hey Fans,
The countdown to our first gig continues. It's now 1 week from today! You guys know where to find us, but I'll put it down anyway. Also, we had our first "photo shoot." It went fairly well, but I wouldn't call it especially creative. I'll put up the pictures now. Don't you guys just love the photo of us holding Ian? That's my favorite by far!

Hey, I'm an Author!
Hey Guys,
Well, although I don't share the same excitement as the others for the gig, saying that I will be in Deleware, I am still very happy with our little bands progress...
Now, I'm sure you who may read this who aren't members of our band would love to know how we all behave during practice. Well, I must say that we aren't the most focused people in the world. Ian drums constantly, its gotten to a point were both Gabe and David wear earplugs. David plays constantly, and I'm not sure he's even aware of it, its like when people sleep walk to their fridge and eat a block of cheese and wake up not remembering a thing. Ravi is our calm leader, but doesn't hesitate at the possiblility of hacky sack, or RUFFLE CHIPS! Gabe jumps up and down and makes funny faces when getting really into his violin, watch for it at the concert people, that alone is pretty 'durn entertaining. I myself try to teach the band new songs, keep Ian quiet, and occasionally make funny noises into the mircophone with the echo turned on ;)
I encourage everyone to try and make it to the concert, though I can not.... It'll be great
Enjoy The Music,
Katie

8 Days!
Hey Fans,
Ok, we're down to 8 days!!!! I'm so freaking excited. What else? Oh, yeah. We had practice today. I wasn't there for the first half... (work), but it went really well. We worked on our set of course, but also Wade in the Water (we need a better name, I'll post the lyrics later and you guys can shout out ideas) and Karma Police. Ravi came up with a sweet new bassline, but you'll have to wait for more info about that.

Songs, and our history as a band
Yeah, well, I was just invited by Gabe to this blog...awesome!!!! Like Gabe said, it's a great idea for us to tell you guys what is going on behind the scenes a little...like our songs. We have gone through a number of songs in our time as a band, but our main focus for this performance is Hysteria - Muse, A Lie - Caitlin and Seven Car Pile-up - me :D If there is a need for a fourth song, we could perform Karma Police - Radiohead if we get that learned, or we could use one of my bass-lines that have been orchestrated as far as the addition of drums and some guitar.
At the end of 7th grade, I was pretty much dying to be in a band. I felt that I would have a lot of fun in one, and it would be a good way of expressing my musical ideas. I received news that Kit Wheeldon played drums well, and some guitar. I asked him if he was interested, and he was as enthusiastic about it as I was. We had two people, and not much could happen. Ian Morse was decided to start taking drum lessons about 2 weeks after Kit and I formed a two-person band =D We threw Ian in the mix, and started jamming as much as we could. That summer I decided to teach myself some guitar, and I liked it more than I thought I would. Practices were held at Kit's house, and we would just hang out there, raid Kit's kitchen for nachos, and jam. It was at our 2nd practice that I came across a really cool sounding riff for the future chorus to Seven Car Pile-up. We all loved it, and we had it recorded on Kit's laptop. After a while, this idea of a three person band was kind of getting old. We felt we needed a guitarist. So, I asked David Glanzman if he and his brother could play guitar for us. His brother wasn't too into it, but David gave it a try, and it fit nicely. For a long long time we didn't have many practices. In fact, we never had a FULL band practice until months from asking David. We soon asked Caitlin Vanderwolf to sing for us, as she was well-known to us as an amazing singer. It took a very long time for her to finally accept, but when she did, it was awesome. Gabe was in Costa Rica! I was skyping him all the time, and one time he asked if he could be in the band. Everyone agreed that it was a really cool idea, violinist in a rock band...XD So, our band was formed. I have to say, Gabe did much more than bring his strings to our band, he brought his brain. Ever since he joined, we have had scheduled practices every weekend, and we worked on more songs. He even did a little stretching; he bought a guitar, and like me, he taught himself chords and is now a good guitarist.
Then, one day, Gabe told me that he signed us up for a gig. "WHAT!" We were not ready for a gig...or so I thought. He did it without asking us first, haha, but we're all glad he did it. Now we've got a name! We've got a blog! And we've got a gig! I forgot to mention, as our band progressed, our initial drummer did not. He sort of...faded away haha. Ian took over his place, and in about 2 years of drumming, has exceeded all expectations. He's really an amazing drummer, come see him perform Hysteria with us! It's really cool to see. So yeah, lots of writing...=P Thank you Gabe for inviting me, this is sweet! Rock on =P
10 days
Hey fans,
We're into the final countdown for our first gig. Our set list is pretty much finished. Unless, of course, we are asked to do more. :) We're on last, that should be around 8. Again info:

Caitlin- Vocals, Guitar; Our original singer and very talented. She is also a talented songwriter.
Kylie- Vocals; Kylie is our guest vocalist for our first performance, as Caitlin cannot attend. Another talented vocalist. She may or may not remain with the band.
